According to Star magazine, when the 'Mercy' rapper told the Roc Nation boss how much he loved Kimmy, Jay advised him to take the next step in the relationship before he loses her.
"Kanye West runs everything about his professional and personal life by Jay," a source told the magazine.
"When Kanye mentioned that he thinks Kim is a keeper, Jay said, 'Then don’t risk losing her - put a ring on her finger!'"
However, the source revealed that Jay's wife, Beyonce, was less enthusiastic about the pair heading down the aisle.
"Beyonce isn’t as keen on Kim as Jay is," says the source.
"She thinks Kanye should take a wait-and-see approach."
